I was looking through Ebay at the Vapors computers for sale. I found a couple when I remembered the bicycle computers that boasted the fact they measure engine temp? So I went in and found them then I remembered a computer Bri said he bought the Endurance. I started checking on the bike computers and the Endurance and I'll be damn they're basically one and the same. The Endurance sells for $60 or more and the bike computer sells for $12 shipped from Hong Kong speechless33 At $12 bucks I think I'll get one to test and pass on what I think.

Remember Nutt.......... we NEVER did get a straight answer, or rather, never got an answer, period, from anyone that was selling those thing about the temp. and oil indicators.
Every time we asked about those indicators we never got an answer back from anyone.
Should you decide to go ahead and buy one or at least find the skinny on the functions............ please do tell and share the details with us.thumbsup2

unfortunately my vapor broke due to vibration, I did buy it used. I will be sending it to trail tech to see how much it would cost me. I Like the Vapor cause of the odometer, I will see what my funding will let me do.

Do you have a link for those other computers you mentioned?

Do you have a link for those other computers you mentioned?Man you must have had some serious vibs going on.At one time the bracket that i mounted mines on the screws were loose. The vapor was shaking like crazy till this day it still works.Who ever you got your's from had to have drop kicked it or something.

I absolutly love the vapor. It's very simple and easy to use.Plus it's great for tunning you can get a good idea if certain engine mods or carb/adjustments affect the motor in a pos or negative way.thumbsup2

Yeah here's the Endurance. They make it for our motors but I could only find ATV's on Ebay right now.

And here's the bike computer I just bought from some guy in Hong Kong. Different label same computer.

I know Shooter and I asked again before buying...still no answer. But at $12 I'll risk it for who knows I might get lucky rolleye0010 or not.

Ok, my take on this $12 computer. The temperature reading will be ambient air temperature, there is only one sensor listed in the package contents which would have to be the wheel sensor for speed. The so-called RPM readout would most likely be the raw data from that speed sensor ie wheel RPM. Engine/oil temp would require a dedicated sensor as would engine RPM.

TrailTech do not list either temp or RPM for the Endurance in either the specs ( http://www.trailtech.net/endurance.html ) or the instructions ( http://www.trailtech.net/endurance_instructions_english.html ). I'm not entirely convinced that the two units are the same. The screen looks the same but chances are the computer behind it is different. Still, for $12 it's a good deal for a basic speedo/odometer/clock. thumbsup2

Red I'm betting you're right. I can see other members asking about computers in the future and I was curious so I bought on "Just Because". I got this feeling the write up will be short and sweet.

I'll give it a shot, if nothing else I can always put it on my son's BMX bike...

As I said, for someone who doesn't want or need anything more than a speedo it's a good deal. I bought one for my nephew's bicycle. He's getting into distance riding so it'll be perfect for him. For me I want a tacho as well thumbsup2

Well they sent the computer without enough shipping and it didn't leave the shores of China so they have to resend it. Nutty-Rant Now the slow boat is creeping.

Got the computer in today but didn't have enough time to really look her over. The instruction manual is typical of Chinese instructions...confusing? It needs a battery so a true test won't make sense til I get one. So far just looking at it I think it's a decent speedo at least.

k i did get mine in...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330268043521&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=014

and thats the one i made that adapter piece to mount the magnet on the valve stem. the only problem i have with it is that the instructions calls for the tire meassurement in mm x like 3.62 or something. now once i did that the measurement was in the 000.00 digits and the speedo doesnt allow me to change the first digit properly, dont know if i got the defective one or what. but the instructions clearly shows the 1st digit at 2 and can be adjusted to 9. now mine i cycle through the 1st digit and it only goes from5 to 9 so i cant even program the correct wheel size. so i maxed it out at like 99.99 mm and when i ride the speedo seems acurate till i get to about 60km then it just wigs out and starts reading out random numbersangry_red
