I asked Kurlon what was on the horizon as far as motor's go and I got a hell of a lot more than I thought I would. This guy Kurlon has his finger on the pulse of the pitbike world and comes through with some great information bows_smilie . The following is a cut and paste from one of his post. Very interesting reading: popcorn_smilie

Quote "Ok, so yeah, there is a YX Motorsports 150 on the market now, swheels posted a pic of it. It's a Jialing 125 style bottom end, KLX 110 style top end. I've not seen any specs on the crank, but it appears the pin and cylinder height matches a standard KLX 110 so bore kits are a direct swap.

Some vendors are selling TB 63mm bore kits for 165cc, they require case boring. Tak's 110 +R head will bolt right up... On pitbikes people are reporting they have to tweak their exhaust to clear the clutch cover. Currently this engine is being imported by GPX, so look for it under that nameplate.

YX Motorsports 150
- 60mm x 53mm
- IRK
- Dyno'd at 11hp stock, 28mm carb

Next on the block is a YX Motorsports 140. Think a Jialing 125 with a 56mm low comp bore kit, and an IRK. Same build potential as a Jialing 125, just a little more built out of the crate.

This motor is making the rounds under the GPX label.

YX Motorsports 140
- 56mm x 57.5mm
- IRK

The Lifan 138 is a common ebay find. Lifan 120 bottom end, 54mm bore, for 128cc.

Lifan '138'
- 54mm x 55.5mm
- Oil cooler taps off case / clutch cover

The Lifan 140 is what the 138 should have been. A long stroke motor built on a Lifan 120 / Jialing 125 style bottom end. Now sporting a 5 disc clutch. Seen sporting an OGM label. Because it uses a taller cylinder than a typical 125, bore kits require spacer plates.

Lifan 140
- 54mm x 59mm
- Oil cooler taps off case / clutch cover

The OGM 150 isn't on the market yet, but is due to hit soon. It starts with a Jialing 125 style bottom end, and uses the long stroke crank of the Lifan 140. Slap on a mild compression 56.4mm bore kit, a Lifan 'BVH', and it's an interesting motor. To make things more interesting, the clutch cover is a clone of a Daytona style primary shaft mounted clutch cover. You can remove a plate to access just the clutch, or pull the whole cover. Similar to Takegawa/Kitaco special clutches it uses an oil filter in the cover rather than an oil sling. The clutch cover is also setup with taps for an oil filter. Clutch operation is hydraulic.

Expect to see it under the GPX label too.

OGM 150
- 56.4mm x 59mm
- Hydraulic clutch
- Oil taps on clutch cover
- Paper oil filter

Daytona 115 and 125 motors are amusing as they are Chinese sourced motors sold under a Japanese label. The bottom ends are typical Lifan 107 fare, but setup with primary mounted clutches ala a 125. The clutch cover is what OGM copied, but setup for cable operation rather than hydraulic. The head is a 25/22 valve setup, ignition is handled by an outer rotor going to a CDI with 4 maps, selectable via dip switches.

It hasn't been well received, with reports of shifting issues.

Daytona 115
- 54mm x 49.5mm
- Oil taps on clutch cover
- Paper oil filter
- Outer rotor with adjustable cdi

Daytona 125
- 54mm x 54mm
- Oil taps on clutch cover
- Paper oil filter
- Outer rotor with adjustable cdi" End Quote

i like what ever has the longest stroke
its much easier to do a bbk than replace the crank/case bore
bout time there was an oil filter

Blitz I just can't pass this one up... bluelaugh That sounded so gay...Hell even a gay guy would admit that moon1 .

OK back on topic...you're right though Blitz it is about time for a few of these modifications. It been hard for me to believe considering the environment Pit's could be put though that they didn't have some of this already.

The new OGM motors are going to be the way to go, you cannot really top the daytona setup with the paper filter and it also will have the longest stroke out of all the motors so it will have the most potential, also it is based off the same jialing base as the gpx so the quality is just as good if not better then the gpx motors.

Best part of that is that i sell the complete OGM 150 motors for $595 shipped including a 28mm keihin pwk, a oil cooler kit, performance cdi and perf. coil, performance ignition, kicker, shifter, clutch cable and some other little goodies.

we sell em with a PWK carb? Thats a D-slide correct? Im waiting for a check to clear and then the money for the 85 is being sent, it has PWK carb on it, not sure exactly what it is though.

A buddy of mine, Dominic, has been building these 150s. He said they are alot better, but the crank and top end have to be replaced to get real power outta em. Although, the bottom end is quality, according to him.

Its hard to tell though, Dom puts so much HP into these engines they normally do not last too long.
