Bob found something totally by accident. I was using neo on a bunch of cuts I got when I jumped into a bush tangled with torns. Yeah it hurt like hell...and had to pull myself out...I was in the middle of the bush. Anyway I was using this stuff called FirstOn because of the humidity down here it and the stuff I wear to work itching can be a major pain. The scratches started itching so I just put it on and it stopped. Will it work for you dunno

This is going to sound kinda crazy but there is this spray for athletes foot that "cools" yet at the same time medicates, this is also very good for itchy road rashes.
Instead of Neosporin, try Polysporin....it's recommended #1 by dermatologists and I just got done using it myself to fight infection from a bite to my fingers from my neighbors cat.
You could also go to www.webmd.com
Hope this helpsthumbsup2

This is going to be a bit off-topic but thought I'd also throw this out there for everyone's information. Just about all my Aunts are Registered Nurses and my two best friends are Chiropractors, an interesting fact that at one time was talked about was that the spray for athletes foot is exactly the same spray used for jock itch, more interesting is that athletes foot and jock itch are exactly the same skin condition..........so if anyone ever at one point experiences a little problem you know where, spare yourself some embarassment and reach for spray for athletes foot....same exact stuff just a different label.
BTW, as it relieves itching it will also do the same for scrapes (road rash) but you have to get the one that COOLS, and use sparingly.
Don't forget the Polysporin........your best defense against infection
Cheers

road rash heals fine and doesnt scar really unless you skid 100's of feet and at 40 or 50 you dont skid that far... neosporin doesnt heal it faster it just keeps it soft so you can move and so you dont crack the scabs and i dont use it i just let mine heal by itself...

I hate to sound like a stuck record but....rolleye0010

Just like the best cure for a hangover is don't get drunk the best treatment for road rash is don't get it in the first place. Buy and wear proper safety gear.

I know Red but in both cases for me i had knee sliders on.I had sucha good time riding that i kept getting closer and closer.Till my knee slider moved from grinding on the curb then to my jeans didn't notice the knee til i look down.speechless33The other time at the track in georgia slider got caught in a crack on the track and ripped off.I had to save the bike from a lowside using my knee.I thought it was a great save but along ride home.LOL

Hahahaha Jock itch aka crabs.j_k

That's exactly why I don't recommend the knee/elbow pads. They can move which means they aren't there when you need them.

If i don't get a little bang up then i don't feel alive. They way i strap them on now they won't move in the worst case the pucs can be snatched off.I wouldn't spring for leathers cuase we don't race enough to justify the cost.(IMO)Now with V.I.R coming up if it turns out to be a consistant thing with the midbikes.I will spring for suit with the yamaha graphics matching my bike then looking to upgrade my motor to a takagawa. Then raise some hell on the track. If i didn't get this little bit of action now i was gonna get rid of the bikes and move on.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I can not remember the last time I have had road rash in the 30 plus years of racing. I do know that protective Gear is a must and that wearing it has saved me time and time again. I am thankful for the great gear we have out there these days and even thou I do not race anymore I still wear my gear everytime I ride. I guess the next question is when are they going to build gear that will protect you against broken bones, fractures and most of all the dreaded sprained ankle. And to all those fallen riders that have cracked ribs before. When will they come up with something better then the brace. No matter how tight or loose you wear the Brace you still can not breath LOL. Oh! the pain. cheers11
