It seems like a lot of people have question about certain bikes and giving them descriptions just has them asking more. I was thinking about a forum section that has a thread for each X-Bike. In that thread members could post photo's of different parts of that specific bike. Example: Blitz had a photo of his frame for his X15 well we know there are 2-3 frames for that bike. As people stripped their bikes to work on them they could snap a few photo's and post them up. I realize this might add more work for the Mod's we'd have to clean up or move photo's not in the right area or well you've all seen it. If this worked I can see a motor section following along. Stock 110cc, 125cc, 140-46cc, 150cc, and yes maybe some 2 smokes since they're still out there. No this is not meant to be like the long term custom build area. This might also help people figure out which parts they can inter-change.

so like a example would be me posting my 146 motor in my x18? or something like that? and blitz would have his own thread with his 146 in his x15

Almost. Each mod would go in the thread for that model. Your mod would go in the X18 thread. Blitz's would go in the X15. It keeps all the info in one thread. Yeah the threads would be long after a while but it would let people use the search this thread function to find stuff real easy.

X7 remember when you did the topend video? That type thing would go in a 110cc thread if we got that far. Even if the video works on a 125cc it would be placed in each section so the person would have to jump around just go to the section they needed.

Yeah it sounds like a good idea.IF people will use the search.I think you have to make it a sticky so the thread doesn't get buried.

Ha! Good idea I didn't think about that thumbsup2 Oh edit needed. No this would be a new titled section like Mid Bike Talk or The lounge. The club would wave bye bye for this new project.

I can see where your going with this, the only thing is most of the members here don't have the tools or knowledge to do the custom stuff like welding, modding, fabricating ect.... Now if it is just a bolt on type post then it may work better otherwise it kinds reverts back to the custom build page...

No Randi you've got it right. This should mostly be OEM stuff with a "I put in a 125cc in my X6 rolleye0010 and this is what it looked like before and after" thrown in here or there. That's what I meant about Mod's having to clean it out every once in a while. Over the top custom stuff doesn't go here.

Ok that makes sense then.... Now would this be simular to the "How To" page?? I was looking at that page and several posts were all idel chat with no real info and no pics, posts turned into chit chat... Maybe a note at the top of the page stating that this page is not a chat page but for info "only" ?.... basically if ya don't have any constructive input don't post... Of course it would have to be put in better words so not to offend anyone but you get the jist of the idea..

wouldnt motors go in all bike threads dunno...maybe say what frame mods you would have to do on those cramped chassis' to fit the bigger ones in

My thoughts exactly. If you have question they should still be asked in the Midbike Talk section.

most common is carb installs and motor swaps
will this carb fit?
will the ogm150 hit the bars in my x19?
stock bikes vs common aftermarket parts should be the theme
when i did my topend run i listed all the parts responsible so kids could see what the result was (well how fast will it go with xx gearing?)

Yes it would of course be specific to that bike. But that would still be a bike post not a motor post. The motor part would be stand alone. What worked, how it worked, and how does it go together. I wanted to see how just the bike part worked before we spread out.

Yep that's part two once we got the easier part fleshed out. The motor part will be the hardest and I thought fixing the mistakes in the easier will make the second part work a lot better as soon as it hit the ground.

the 'will it fit' or 'compatibility' section

mishka

I like "Will it fit" or "Modification Center"

And then we should make sticky threads called like, "X18" "X15" "X12" "x22" ect..

This may be really stupid but what about forums dedicated to the different types of midbikes?
Like an x22 forum and so on.
For those who are not as hard coe, it may promote activity because of the specific dedicated forum for the midbike they own.

The reason I didn't say forum's is because of the large number of different bikes. Some of the forums would show a lot of hits and most would be rather empty. In this forum there would be a set number of threads. One for each bike.

X7 I like the rating part but I see that more in the motor section than just the bike section...but then again removing X18 fairings seem a bear compared to the X22 so that rating might be a good gauge of certain things.
