I am trying to remove the valve from my x18 forks. I am just going through them before I Install them on my project bike.
The allen head is loose but looking through the empty tube with a light I can see the Valve is spinning while turning the allen head bolt.
Before I just Jam whatever down the tube to lock it up while I unscrew the allen head.
I figured I would ask before hand if there is something special I need.
Thanks!

Somtimes this might work.Put the forks back together spring and all. Then try un doing the screw from the bottom.Sometimes the fork spring puts enough pressure on the dampening rod to keep it from spinning.

I have been trying that as well.
Just keeps on spinning. Albeit a bit tighter :)

Thats what i had to do with my forks but one was stuburn so put a nut in the tube to give the spring more pressure and then it came loose.

what are you going to do with them?
when i did my dual brakes i swapped in an x18 fork to my x15
i did a bounce test with the fork off the bike, i just put all my buck 40 on it and noticed that it bottomed out on the x18 fork but not the x15 fork
i took it apart and seen the oil in it and decided to add some to the x18 fork
i put a few tablespoons of some 90W gear oil in and redid the bounce test
they were the same now
i know its not great or adjustable but its good for what ive done with it so far
it raced good
id like some of Swheels patented preloaders but i dont even know what i like in the front end yet so im not missing anything yet
