I was reading through some of my old notes I wrote down when I was building my CBR600 F2 race bike and stumbled across something I thought I should write about. I was (Probably still am dunno ) the king of lowsides. I installed frame sliders and they payed for themselves within a week. I then started going through some of the other forums I read to see what was going on with sliders and I ran across some Tards who were using skate board wheels and I thought some of what they did was pretty neat. I’ve added photo’s and a couple links. For you guys going to VIR you might want to think about putting some kind of slider on your bike. Sliders can do many things but 2 of them are:1- Lower the amount of damage caused by a crash to your bodywork and other hard part. 2-Stop the bike from digging hard parts into the track and flipping the bike over causing it to tumble destroying a lot of shizzle.

Here's a look at the skate board wheels and what you can expect to pay. Locally you might get them for less. The longer the better.

I want some frame sliders for my x-18 when I get it..I am not going to race it but asphalt is asphalt.
I never heard of using skateboard wheels on the axle ends though..

Yeah Np i was thinking of turning some on the lathe.But i figured i'd wait till after i started making my custom bodywork.thinking_smilie

i seen it on the speed channel
and a lexan body kit with qwik disconnects
