Bike wont start

Hey guys 5*

i was riding my bike on thursday, but when i tried to start it friday it wouldnt go, (btw, i kick start, no battery on the bike) i checked everything that i know
it has compression but sometimes it will start for 1 cycle then backfire then cut off

-has spark
-has gas
-gas lines clear
-cdi and wires are all good
-carb slide is fine
-has compression
-plug is clean
-no air flow restrictions

any other ideas as to what may be wrong?

and i finally got around to finishing the paint, looks like doody, as the clearcoat has some runs... but it will work, at least untill i get some x7 plastics, i dont have it all together yet but i'll post pics asap

maybe there is gunk in the float bowl
or maybe its just flooded

hm... i'll take off the carb and clean it, see if anythings blocking the jets or something. see if that does anything

happend to me on my X7.. make sure you spark plug white is not touching the exhaust... mines melted and the wire was hitting the exhaust and not electricity thru...

Cleaned the carb, its fine, and the wires are fine, i checked them all, the bike is getting spark, occasionally, it will kick and go throught a cycle, backfire, then cut off... Not sure what the deal is, drained the gas from the carb, checked the fuel lines not sure what the problem is

The cdi is plugged in, the ground cable is plugged in, i dunno what else to do


PS. would there be anypoint of having the electric start motor on the bike if you dont have a battery, cuz i'm thinkin of taking mine off.

sounds like timeing skipped

also its rare but happens , that the compression cancels out the spark from a weak wire or spark plug change it and see if any improvement shows

i accedently cracked the spark plug, so i'll have to pick up one tomorrow, what is the code for these again? i forgot...:confused:
