I was wondering if there are any magazines on the rack for at least pocket bikes? I know there won't be any for Mid's but I figured with the PB craze someone would have printed something? One way to get us closer to the mainstream would be to have a magazine and sell it in Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million, Waldens Books one of the big ones. The average person buys mags on a whim sometimes. This would bring in people not even looking our way. Do I know how to get it done...no. Maybe someone out there does? Just my twocents

Just my twocents Great minds think alike. I was thinking of that the other day and also wondering how much a project like thank would take. I have a friend that I go to college with, she is an atrist and I would ask her to see what can be done. It would need the backing of the PB and MB communities. Now if this is possible we would need some guest writers for the how to's and such. I figured if we started maybe bi-monthly and took ordered off the internet? What yall think?

It is a great idea NP. thumbsup2
I have also tossed around the idea because I have a small bit of experience in publications.
I have thought of a small magizine. Maybe bi-monthly.
IMO, the content would not be a problem and I honestly feel there would be enough people willing to donate some time as far as "how to's" and such but the problem I have found in the past is how to get them in people hands after printing. It seems that a grass roots effort would be need to get them into industry businesses and then after there is a small circulation, the chances of a bigger store allowing us some shelf space is higher... but still tough because we are a nitch market.
Saying all this... IT CAN BE DONE... but it is much work.
I am up for it.

Well to start a circulation I was thinking the about the American Roadracer (I know out of business) and the Roadracing World models. They both sent their mags to bike shops and the bike shops sold them. When They were sold the bike shop sent a portion of the sale back to them and kept a portion. I think the shop had to ask to be a "Dealer"? Going to AMA, CMRA, CCS, WERA, to name a few organization races and passing out copies to the kids running around in the pits would spike sales I think. Just a few ideas on getting circulation started. twocents

I started thinking about this because I was very aggravated when I first got into Mid's. I could see a need for a lot of aftermarket parts but I walked into a series of reality checks that ruined the vision. For one the chinese parts were so cheap it would be near impossible to compete. If, no when, a racing series take hold making aftermarket bodywork and selling it wil become a viable option but for now producing and building it will cost more than the return. Yes the return may come but waiting 2 years in this market will put you under. Finding parts already made and re-selling them is the domain of PBU and a few others and you rely on their shipping and quaility. Designing your own product and finding a supplier is the mark of a company that will be around OK soap_box enough So the next idea_smilie was the mag will it fly or crash to earth like the first dunno but it seems like their are more Nutt's out there than just this one thumbsup2

Exactly.
There is not enough interest right now or at the beginning IMO to justify a shop to have an out of pocket expense.

Well somebody went and done or at least for the Pit Bike boyz Nutty-Rant It's not a bad mag for a first issue and the fact I'm not into Pit's might have something to do with my critique :dunno:
