View Full Version : my little x7 project

So i recntly bought a hand full of bikes, four to be exact, i wanted to modify the originally 50cc four stroke x7, i wanted to buy an 88cc headkit, sprocket set, and an unlimited cdi. After being convinced not to buy this setup and that i should buy a 110 taken off of an x18 i had my eyes and thoughts set on that. Then i encountered this 130 dollar kit, the 114cc high comp big bore kit, i wanted to buy this with my 150 dollar 110cc moter untill i saw how low the prices of the 125's are, so i went to order a 125 but asked a few people first, everyone said a 110 with the 114 bbk will rip apart a 125 (stock) so i waited a week trying to decide.
Yesterday my buddy jay from holshotz performance found me a 110 with a 114 bbk, racing head, racing camshaft, 22mm minuki carb, and a 4 up transmission, the only catch is that it needed a new exaust valve.
So i ended up ordering this engine and i can't wait to get it and he threw in an exaust valve, gas tank, gas gap, 33t rear and 16 front sprocket, and some fuel line for only 40 bucks more, so i plan on getting this little guy quite fast.
This thread will be updated with pics, is this site img enabled? (vb) html enable? (html-b) or is there a no-link law like pbp?

yall should come to TN and drag race.... ive got a couple tracks where we could have a race....proly would cost 15 to enter depending on how much every1 wants the purse to be.....we could also let other pit vehicles race too so there would be more people, mini whatevers, 4 wheeliers and maybe golf carts bcuz there so easy to beat....im in knoxville so lets get a race goin sometime...

a 125 mildly built would smash a 110
they are basicly the same bore (52) but the 125 has a 57 stroke while the 110 has a 49.5 stroke
the effect is you can run taller gearing with the 125 because it has the torque to pull it
i run 17/28 on mine and it pulls all the way to the top
not to say that the 110 isnt a good motor, it just isnt in the same league

ok 114, i just ment the base it was built off of, which is 110
with it that built up i hope it would challenge a stock motor
i only have a head and cam and you would lose to me, but then again that wouldnt be fair either
i got a 114 for mine but decided in the end that i wanted more motor, cuz thats it for the 110
the 125 has a much better clutch setup and you can do all kinds of craziness to it, ive only started

You add a irk to the mix and a good pipe and 24mm mikuni and it would totaly rape a stock 125 prob.even one slightly modded..

This may not be the place to ask it but the picture is right there. Looking at that carb I always wondered why there's a bend in the intake runner? If the runner was at less of an angle the intake is better. OEM's are always trying to achieve a straighter shot from the carb to the cylinder. A straight shot instead of a bend is the reason Swheels was looking at a down draft carb. I don't know just one of those what the hell moments.

I don't know just one of those what the hell moments.Because the engine lays horizontally so the standard carb will not function properly becuase of the float design.I guess they didn't want to put much effort into a down draft carb.

jeez i dont even have room to store my bike in the garage much less work on it in there! However I have tons of tools plus a welder, air tools and all sorts of other things thumbsup2 But I will have to make room to park when I get my bike.

swanni mentioned adding an IRK which would be a great idea, but since the engine is an electric start and has no kickstarter u cant use an inner rotor kit. there would be no way to start the engine, unless u want to do quite a bit more modifiying to it to add a kickstarter.
xxlarge420
11-17-2007, 12:56 PM
sorry i wasnt looking at the right picture. if it does have a kickstarter then an IRK would be my next mod. as for that engine. the engine sounds like it has almost everything but an IRK.
