Most of the plugs, at least on the harnesses I've dealt with, only plug into the plugs they are meant for. The exception are turnsignals. But if you get them backward just switch them.

Welcome to the Nation. Take a picture of what you need help with so we can help you better if you haven't figured it out. Nutty P is right most of the plugs have specific ones that go with each other, I know for a fact the key switch ones can usally get crossed or are you confussed on the CDI and ingnition ones?
What part of MI you in?

No the solenoid kicks the pinion on the starter out to contact with a gear to turn the motor over. Here try this old method using a old screwdriver by touching both bolts at the back of the solenoid. Meaning use the screwdriver to jump the gap. BEWARE! there might be a large spark or the screwdriver will arch weld itself in place but it won't be so bad you can't snatch it loose. The trick is to touch it just long enough to get it going. The easiest way is to touch one bolt then rock the screwdriver into the other bolt. If it spins up the solenoid is fine and your problem is somewhere else. If not you need a new solenoid or whole new starter. Just because the starter sounds like it's spinning doesn't mean it has the balls to turn the motor over. The brushes on these Mid starters I think are made from green suck-cheese. rolleye0010
Yeah know until I started with Mid's I never even considered a bike as not having a e-start. It was a given. 1:1 bikes come that way and they work everytime (Honda or Ducati of course). With Mid's the 5th rate wiring and 6th rate starter's make kick-starting a must, if not the only reliable option.
