Swanni brought this little bit of PEEUU! to my attention. Sounds like a great piece of kit, but is the hype up to the task?
"110cc BIG BORE HEAD KIT
THE LARGEST POSSIBLE DISPLACEMENT AVAILABLE
WITHOUT THE HEADACHES OF RUNNING A STROKED
CRANKSHAFT. MUST BORE ENGINE CASES TO INSTALL".
That's a direct quote from the ad.
This is what I said to Swanni when I first saw it:
"Call me ignorant but I've read you guys talking about boring a case. Boring a cylinder I got that one down, but a case? I think I got that one too. What I don't get or what worries me is doesn't it take away from the cylinder head bolt strength. You're losing structural material? dunno
And Swanni said:
"I would think it would have tons of torque but no topend and would take out clutches like crazy".
Ok we started it now were will it end? Poke12

What I ment by topend was it wouldn`t get very high rpms...look how big the piston is compaired to the crankrod size?Thats gotta be bad lol. Also it would scrap stock clutches like crazy,I dunno lol

Oh man those people are such tards, take a close look at that kit and then look at the bore kits for the KLX motors, that kit is for the KLX/DRZ motors, it wont even come close to fitting the Honda and clone motors.

I thought the cylinder looked a little funky.

I talked to the owner of PBU a couple of times and it seams that he and a couple of other people that work there know what they are talking about. Its funny cause a while back I was talking to Scott aand he asked what mods I have done to my bike. One mod that I mentioned was an oil temp dipstick made by POSH and majically a couple of months later there it was on their site. (he asked where I got it from)

even if they are smart, they ruin that by having a klx kit on their site
it is a test for the truly gullible
you can only go to a 114 from a 110, or to a 125 if you change the crank i think

that kit would most likely fit the GPX 150 though
but that would be one expensive headkit for an extra 150 i would just go with kitaco or takagawa for a big bore

no i bet the cylinder height is different from a klx

the topend of the new GPX 150 is just like the KLX
the cases are honda styles
its a hybrid

a klx 110 motor has a stroke of 50.6mm
the new gpx 150cc has a stroke of 53
wont that be a difference?

yes but adding a large spacer for the piston to not hit the valve head would have to be used
but now im wondering if the 150 GPX would reguire case boreing itself

You know we need a American equal to Tak. We have a lot of talent in this country but everyone wants to sell Thai, Chinese, and Japanese parts. Who sells billet cranks besides Falicon they are have quality control problems? Maybe I'll start there.

so when we installed that 114cc in the x6 the fins hit the alternator so we cut the cooling fins off a hair to make the sleeve fit
i know ive heard about boring a case causing overheating...A BOMB
ive started to think maybe i need an oil cooler, 300 degrees damn hot!
