If you have a Dremel or rotozip or even a drill, you can get one of those scotchbrite disc pads and basically buff-sand the color off, I mentioned the smaller tools because you can get into the little nooks and crannies, otherwise just a regular scotchbrite pad will be fine if you want to avoid painting it.

it apears to be anodized, all you would need to do is get some lye, mix with water, disasemble the lever, pop it in the mix, pull it out 30 seconds later, scrub it down, repeat till color is gone, then you will need some degeaser to deactivate the acid or else it will eat through your lever causing pitting.

its not paint, the aluminum is anodized, then died, then sealed, the color is now part of the metal.

The color is red, not pink the pictures seem to not get the color right. In person they look nothing like that.

My hydro clutch assemblies come in black, red, blue, silver and gold and are $95 a kit.

Can't see the problem without a few photo's. Is the cable coming out of the actuator moving?

mishka

ill take a few pictures. the cable will only move if u put it first, then you keep holding it and press the lever then it moves..( does that make sense?)

Aaahh no dunno But the cable should move no matter what. As you squeeze the lever it should pull in and as you release it should move back out.

hmm maybe i should add more oil? cuz i just went and looked how much was in it and it seems like it is only half way full.. hmm i wonder if autozone sells oil for it..

Yeah brake fluid. I would drain what's in there and start again with new fluid. Just my opinion. Brake fluid absorbs water and if it was half full when you got it? I take it it was primed and only needed to be installed right? If not and you added it you should be OK just adding more fluid.

G'mornin! I just received a hydraulic clutch lever I bought off ebay. There's some fluid in it, but when I pull the lever, the part that's supposed to pull the clutch doesn't move. My question is how do I bleed this thing?

Here are a few areas where people had the same problem. Try the search function we're still small enough that it's easy to find stuff.

http://midbikenation.com/showthread.php?t=709&highlight=clutch

Get paper towels or towels and have a hose or bucket of water handy. This is to get the fluid off the body panels or any area where you'd really like to keep paint on it moon1

Otherwise bleed it at the banjo bolt on both ends. The bolt near the master cylinder will bleed it and the other will bleed the line. Open the master cylinder and make sure it's full. Now open the bottom valve or bolt and leave it open and see if it will gravity feed fluid. If and when fluid comes out close it. One way to cheat is to take the brake line off the bottom actuator. Now with your thumb and fore-finger close off both sides of the banjo fitting. Now pump the lever. Your fingers can't hold back the pressure from the fluid but they will seal it and allow large pockets of air out and each time you release the lever they will seal the bolt back. When fluid really starts blowing out re-install the bottom actuator (Quickly). Now go back to the top and pump the master cylinder hold it down and crack the top bolt. There will still be air in the system but you'll get it out using the two bolts. Using the bolts can be real messy because fluid can blow out 360 degrees that's why you need all the towels and the water. Bleeding systems with just the bolts is a pain in the arse so be prepared for the aggravation angry_red moon1moon1

Thanks for the info. I actually did search but I think I must have been too specific, not to mention my grammar might have been too good. A lot of posts are so grammatically incorrect that's hard to find what I'm looking for.

ya i had one.. i couldn't bleed it for some reason..
it just took forever lol.
good luck man.:)

Ok I think I got all the hydro clutch thread stuff and merged it. Somebody should be able to find something in here.
