mechanic in a auto garage
i work on cars all day and help stupid people
if were not busy we just work on our own stuff
*revelation of the day*
my head mechanic turboed his 93 integra, its a stick
we just found out that the manual integras use cam timing and valve overlap as a egr system, not a egr valve
while the auto integras just have a egr valve
we reckon that putting in a auto cam would make for less valve overlap and the turbo would spool sooner with less loss

I'm currently a qualified welder/fabricator working in both aluminium and steel. I've worked making everything from small stuff through car chassis's, truck trailers and at the moment I build buses.
I'm also qualified in electronics design, construction and fault rectification and worked in that field for 13 years.

Police patrol supervisor (On a good day) and what I'm most proud of is a assistant team leader for the Blue Team of the Savannah-Chatham Metro PD SWAT team. Long name ain't it bluelaugh The first I do because it's a living the second because I'm a adrenaline junkie. I would quite the first if I wasn't doing the second. cowboy

thats odd my 90 and 91 integra had the egr on the intake manifold. all you had to do is swap it with a newer ls (dc2) manifold or a b20. either one got rid of the alot of the emissions non-sense and had better flowing manifolds. unless its a gsr, and the b17 for that year was just weird designed vtec motor.

i was a motorcycle mechanic and an ice sculptor, but when my father became paralyzed my brother and i purchased his ice sculpting business. i no longer had time to be a mechanic full-time so now i work part-time as a bartender and as an ice sculptor. funny thing is i make more money, per hour, as a bartender and definitely more as a sculptor than i did as a motorcycle mechanic. so it kinda works out. i work less hours and make quite a bit more money. i cant complain

I'm currently freelance.
That means 'unemployed'...
I've worked cable TV, security camera and access control installation, nursecall systems, systems tech and consierge at multiple lasertag facilities, machinist, R&D tech, prototype builder, electronics tech, electronics retail, custom communication networks (hardwire), home theatre installation, video cabling for sattelite (when dish said it couldn't be done), 300+foot RG-11 underground cable drops (when c-cast said it couldn't be done) ...
And that's just stuff I've been paid to do. Don't even ask about my hobby list... machinegunskullthinking_smiliecrazy_smilie

thanks red, my father taught me how to carve when i was a kid. i never thought that one of my hobbies would become my primary source of income and a good income at that. there is nothing like being your own boss. not having to answer to anybody is great. Plus in Omaha, NE there is only one other ice sculpting company to compete with. and it is the company my father worked for 23 years ago before he started his own company 15 years ago (after the original owner died, my father didnt like working for the new owner and since he was their only sculptor he quit them and opened his own business) which after doing he was able to retire after only about 10 years. he didnt want to retire but after becoming paralyzed he had no choice, yet he still managed to saved a nice little nest egg for himself and since i carved for him for over 11 years and my younger brother had been carving for 4 years he SOLD us the business. i still didnt get any free ride because he was my father, but buying that business was the best thing ive ever done.
