OK. I have $100 to spend on my stock x19.
I would like to know what is best for me to spend the money on.
Not only what to get but where to get it.
Best bang for my buck kinda thing...
I will let this thread go a week or so and then make my order online.

Let the suggestions begin!

I would think gears, intake, and exhaust for starters atleast thats what I would do with cars and trucks. Help the engine breathe better since its basically a complicated air pump and gearing will give you the biggest bang for your buck over the whole rpm range, then tires because I have read that the stock tires are kinda crappy. Hope this helpsthumbsup2

I agree with gears and intake....sprocket size helps and both are relatively easy to upgrade without breaking bank

maybe a sprocket but an intake would be useless, just dremel out the stock one.....the other thing i would get is a CDI and after that a 100 bucks would be gone mostly....the first thing i bought was a front sprocket and a better coil and a hitman CDI....made it quicker and a lil faster

im selling a hitman cdi cheap
my first upgrade was the carb
the stock one dumped gas and was a pain
id get a carb, and some good fuel line ,fuel filter, and cut off valve
then that system is done
dont do sprockets till you build the motor some
the 26mm taperbore mikuni is fine

I agree with intake, exhaust and CDI. Those three items are the biggest letdowns on these bikes. If you can stretch the $$$, get a genuine Japanese Mikuni rather than a Chinese copy. It's peace of mind more than anything else. I've heard of a few dramas with the copies.

Oh, and an NGK sparkplug. C7HSA is a good choice for a stock engine.

Cheers,

Don't waste your time with a CDI, from what i've seen most do not even have rev limiters like everyone says. All it will really do for you is advance the timing a bit so its not worth wasting $35-$55 on unless you have a really built up motor.

I would go with a 26mm taper bore miknui carb kit for $100, you will see big gains from that. It is also worth it to take another $55 and get your stock pipe modified, the mod pipe and carb work great together.

What size sprockets does your bike have?

dude dont pay someone to modify your pipe....thats too easy to modify

The CDI does give you more torque and ive proved that at the drag strip...after the CDI and front sprocket change with the new coil i picked up a second from low 15's to low 14's in the 8th.... you can modify your pipe yourself so dont waste money on that......a CDI did what i wanted bcuz it made the bike have more torque and thats why i can do wheelies in 4th gear.....and a 26 mm carb would be too much for a stock motor...like i said, sprocket and CDI is what i would get that way when you lower the gear ratio it has the torque to push it....

Thats what you think.......I take and completely gut the stock can so there is nothing left to it cept for the casing, flange and tip then i weld a race core usually from big gun or fmf and pack the exhaust with big gin or fmf packaging so you basically get the performance and sound of a name brand pipe without the high cost. Sometimes i spray the cans black too for a unique look but thats only if your lucky lol.

Did you put all that on at once because I'm betting that most of the difference you saw was from the change in the sprocket, even though a raising or dropping a tooth does not seem like a lot it really does make a big difference. The 26mm carb i am talking about is the taper bore Miknui so it would be just fine for a stock/piped 110 motor. What they do is taper down to 22mm at the slide so it is not a strait through 26mm carb, only at the flange?

Stunt what cdi and coil are you running and do you have any other mods? It be cool to see some vids of your bike at the drags.rock2

i put the sprocket on before i put the CDI on so thats why i said it made a difference....i went to the track every week before and after each change so im talkin facts here.....and as for the packing in the exhaust thats just for sound and is not gonna make a difference in power....its easy to cut and gut the pipe....im the first one that did it

i started out at 15.30's and then went to high 14's with the changed sprocket and then low 14's with the CDI and coil change....fastest pass i ever made was 14.02 at 43 & change......

jay doesnt just cut and gut, he cuts, guts, welds, repaces w/nice new packaging, then paints.

Send your forks to Swheels and spend whatever he charges so he can fix your forks. That's if he wants to do that sort of thing. You might have to wait until after VIR but it's worth it. Believe it or not one of the first things I did was push down on the forks to see what's up and I was not impressed dunno
