hey guys this is kinda like the $100 Spending Spree but i have $500 to spend on my bike...
i wanted to see what i should buy to upgrade the 125cc GPX engine..
ive spend $125 already on the Powroll crank(61.5stroke) and now i have $375 to spend...
im going to go with the 146bbk from j, and the 30mm carb as well.
im going to have about $160 left so what should i get now?

oh i also already have the IRK, and exhaust down so what should i get other than that?thumbsup2

i wanted to bore my 57 bore to a 59 but still not sure about that..
oil cooler? BVH? race cams? idk.. plz help me out here...

also i haven't bought the bbk yet or the carb so i still have $375 left.. so if u have any other suggestions plz let me no!thumbsup2

thanx guys

http://www.ducatitech.com/info/bore.html

this is what im using to calculate the displacement on my bike..
my bore is 57,stroke is 61.5 and the displacement is 157..
but if i get the 59 bore my displacement is 168.2
so i kinda want the 59 bore... do u guys no where i can do this?
thank_s

i have tried.. kinda hard and then one wheely went bad and broke my rear fairings.. just about done fixing it tho..thumbsup2

what you should do is power into a wheelie instead of clutchn it so hard.....you can pull up, hit the throttle and it should pick it up...do that until you get tired of that, even if your doin 1 ft wheelies and takin it just 10 ft. you will still gain confidence and after a while you will be good....

you need the big valve head with the bbk
i had clearance issues with the stock head
also get a high lift cam
sprockets for sure
your motor will have mad torque
use it with a 28 rear at least
if i had that crank id go with the 22 rear
you can pull it
dont think you cant
your motor is a waste on stock sprockets

ya im talking to SGR and they can get me a ported head so im going to get that and then some sprockets, im thinking 16/28 and oil cooler and im done.. for now
then ill get some more things but not for the engine!thumbsup2

mishka
10-31-2007, 02:06 PM
okay ill go with 17/28 then, i think 15/22 is to low lol no acceleration...
so ya
i guess im going with
146bbk,
28mmcarb,
17/28 sprocket,
SGR BVH,
oil cooler,
and thats it for now!
goodthumbsup2

Mishka, do not waste your time on the heads from sgr. Those are just EXTREMELY marked up Akunar heads and not worth the price they are asking, your money would be much better spent elsewhere. I'm not saying its a bad product, just that you could get a lot more with your $$$ elsewhere.

every 5 on the back is supposed to be like 1 on the front so 15/22 would be more acceleration than 17/28 so 16/22 would be more like 17/28

this is what he said..

"we have a few used sgr head castings. there in perfect shape and are ported. the valve guides are installed. $95.00 each."

just letting you know...... all the hp is in the head... i have a cnc ported bv lifan head with weld up and epox

30mm Titanium intake valve
24.5mm SS ex valve
both have been back cut
brillium seat in
alloy 25 seat ex
oversized trx450 valve guides
full rad valve job
trx450 kibblewhite valve springs
lash caps

i'll take 600 for the head.... this head flowed 93%... thats very good. on a 146cc gpx this head is good for a easy 18-19hp

mishka

thats cool.......... i saw in your first post about you wanting a 150+cc engine??? well why bother? this head alone on a 131 will out hp a staggs head on a 153cc.. if you can't move the air, why make the motor bigger? by the way i bore and sleeve this engines up to 61mm pistons//
ps. this is the head off my 105mph x18 parts alone are 600 port work and labor another 600

he can get a head for the 150cc too and then it will be faster

for $500 i would just buy the new OGM Lifan 150cc 4spd engine from holeshotz and call it done instead of going through all of the effort, time, work and money to build an engine that might not be as fast as the 150cc.

i think a worked 146 would spank the stock 150
plus you get the satisfaction of building it

mishka
11-10-2007, 10:20 AM
umm its going to be a 158cc not 146..
i no it will be faster and yes whats the fun in just
buying an engine, when u can say
you created a monster engine!thumbsup2

11-10-2007, 02:05 PM
the power is in the head...................... the head i'm selling on a pile of shit, will out run that stock or modded 150.. unless, you had the head done by a world class engine builder......:) i can't wait till someone buys one of the new 150's that throughs down a whooping 11-12hp and thinks their going to run 100mph... my motor made 18-19hp and another 8-9hp on the gas.. thats 26hp!! thats what it's going to take... but i guess thats not want we're talking about....

it would be better to spend the money on the head/work than to spend it on a bigger engine
