judging by the specs it does look like a better engine. But a lot more expensive
Anybody threw a 80cc 2 stroker in these things before? or even a ktm 50 or kx 60? I think it would be pretty badass having that killer powerband coming out of a turn. Those lil motors are strong!

yup. Got it in last week. Been trying to get it broke in. Stuff keps breaking everytime I ride it though. Very aggrevatingangry_red. Keep forgeting it's a damn China bike. It just can't handle the punishment.

lol. I'll try not to. Really havent had a bad wreck yet. Just minor lay-downs. But it hasnt been major breakage, just foot pegs(couple times)motor mount bolts stripped, most of the bolts on the bike stripped out or heads rounded off, and broken plastic. Seems like everytime I ride I break sumthin. I'm fixing to get the welder out and REINFORCE everything lol. Guess I'll just to accept the fact that this isn't a Jap bike like I'm used to, and that I'm going to have to buy parts occasionally, or frequently.

how good does the 125 run?

I'm pleased with it. I need to figure out what kind of gearing I need to run. Once I get it broke in I'll do some top speed runs.
I'm really limited right now due to the fact that I still have the stock carb, filter, exhaust, and gearing. Hopefully I'll be able to start ordering soon.

I havent even got the engine broke in yet so I dont know how "good" it'll be. SO far it seems like it will be worth the money. I heard very good reviews about Lifans from pit bikers.

i have both a jialing (GPX) 125cc and a Lifan 140cc. and i like my lifan 140cc a little bit better than my GPX 125cc. i think that both engines are good but the lifan appears to me to hav a little more bang for your buck. my jialing 125cc cost me almost as much as my lifan 140cc and the lifan is noticably smoother, faster, and has more torque and is just as reliable. but both are good engines and both have plenty of parts available and even some of the parts are interchangeable. so it is kind of whatever your preference is. both engines can be modified beyond belief to suit almost any speed demons needs. but my preference is still the lifan. i know that it isnt really fair to compare a 125cc to a 140cc but those are the closest engines that i have to compare. i also have a loncin 110cc just laying around that came with an old mini chopper that we swapped in another lifan 140cc( my friends bike) and i have the stock 4 stroke 50cc engine that came with my X7 before i swapped in my extensively modified Lifan 140cc 4 spd all up trans. but u cant compare a 50cc or a 110cc to a 125cc GPX, but the Lifan 140cc is a little closer to compare. i will say this though the jialing 125cc really beats up on the loncin 110cc 4spd semi-auto, but then again my Lifan 140cc 4 spd really kicks the hell out of my Jialing 125cc 4 spd. and both are in the same kind of bikes(X7s) with the same gearing.
