IRK compatability

i have a question that i hope someone can answer. are inner rotor kits interchangeable between different brands and sizes of honda/chinese replica engines? i have been told differing answers to this question. i am looking for an IRK for a Lifan 140cc (not 138cc) 4spd all 4 up trans that is a start in any gear type engine with only a kickstarter. ive seen all different brands on ebay and they all look alike. but ive been told by the sellers that it should fit, and that it will probably fit, and it might fit. and even one guy told me i had to buy an IRK specifically designed for a start in any gear type engine and that none of the others will fit, then another seller told me that was not true and that he thinks that any of them should fit, but even he couldnt give me a for sure answer. i am looking at some from fasttrailsperformance, and one from PCC Motors, and one from JDM dirt bike, and one from bestdirtparts, and one built by Pirhana, and even one that is a replica of a kitaco IRK. if someone could go to ebay and take a look and tell me for sure which one will fit or if any or all of them will fit. or if u have a lifan 140cc with an inner rotor kit would u please tell me which one u have and where u purchased it. i just want to be sure that it will fit before i purchase one. thanks again for all of your help.

Just a question. Did you ask any of the dealer's if they would take the IRK back if it didn't fit? Anybody that says no don't buy it from them. If they say yes then they are confident it will fit. They sure don't want to have to give you your money back. As for the body of your question. my understanding is an IRK is an IRK. If other parts are interchangeable between motors the IRK should be also. There are diffenently some motors that do not have compatible parts. Find a IRK that fits more than one make motor and you're in. In this world nothing is a sure thing. armyguy

all of them said no refunds. some said that i could exchange it for something else with me paying the extra shipping, but that does me no good. no one could give me a definite answer if it will fit. i think that if it will fit a lifan 125cc or a gpx 125cc than it should fit my lifan 140cc. most of them in their ads say it will fit most chinese replicas all the way from 50cc-138cc. ive only found one that said it will fit a 140cc(it didnt say engine manufacturer) but it was a little more than i wanted to spend $175 and it looked just like all of the rest of the IRKs. i know that the lifan 138cc is actually a 127cc but i have found numerous IRKs that claim to fit the lifan 138cc. so i thought i might try one of those. do u know if it matters if the engine is a start in any gear type engine?

borexstroke is 55x59. that is what i figured, but ive seen some people say it is 55.5x59 an ive also seen people say it is 55x59.5 but i really think it is 55x59 im 95% sure it is. so it really is a true 140cc engine. still nobody has told me of firsthand knowledge of installing an IRK on a lifan 140cc and what brand or seller they used. if anyone knows i would greatly appreciate it.

if it dont fit, put it on one of your 125s

I bought my irk off ebay for under $65...as far as I know all the chinese 4 strokes have the same two screw bolt pattern....I can't see that changing just because of a longer stroke or bigger bore from the factory since they would have to have new molds to cast the cases......just my twocents

thanks for the info. i am going to buy one off ebay that is said to fit and is supposed to be a kitaco clone for about $65. i am almost 100% sure it will fit. what is a good starting point to play with for the timing?
