id get a 125 to start
the only problem i can think of is the bigger motors are longer so it may be close to the front wheel, maybe 15mm from where you are now
the motor is strong at 8hp and can be built to double that

Yup, the x7 two stroke 50 has a different mount setup. Youd have to cut the old frame up and weld in new motor mounts, different sprockets and other stuff, it would be a bit of a project.

My advice is buy a 110cc stock bike. Then youd be in a good place to upgrade the motor and other stuff w/o having to mod your x7 to such an extreme.

he said it was a 4 stroke already, so it should bolt right in

Hah, sorry reading things off a monitor makes me skim text. Then should be easy bolt in. Think youll have to buy a shifting assembly/rearset but pretty easy swap. GL

Go for a 3 valve 110 and punch it out to as big as it will go.

Would that be my best bet? What do u mean by punching it out i dont exactly have access to a shop. Also i have a price range of around 400 for everything do you mind linking me to some motors and shifting kits?

No 3 valve engines... you can only go to a 54mm piston which is like 114cc and they really don't make good power..... the ports are not ideal.... They came stock on SDG pit bikes... The bolt pattern is slightly different than any other engine also so your upgrades are limited... I have 2 of them on the bench and both have trans problems...

Never heard about the transmission problems. Mine isn't a SDG? It's a Loncin which doesn't mean much it may still be the same motor different name. But I also noticed when I saw photo's of 3 valves on Ebay none of them looked like my motor :dunno:

U know the deal... same engine different side covers and names..... Ive only seen them in 1d3u patterns.... but I'm sure that can change.... the original manufacture wad Dukar..... the first mainstream ones with the clutch on the mainshaft and not the crank..... just not my first choice in these days options...
