does anyone make a stepped header exhaust with a slip-on muffler for the X7 4 stroke. I know that pocketbikesunlimited.com carries them and they are very nice but expensive. all of the other aftermarket exhausts for the X7 4 strokes have that expansion chamber that i feel is mostly beneficial for 2 stroke engines. holeshotz told me he had a great exhaust but when i went to his site i couldnt find any pictures or prices of any exhaust for the X7. I already have the PBU stepped header exhaust with a slip-on billet muffler for one of my X7s and would like to find another one just like it. i bought my first PBU exhaust used from a friend who sold his X7 and sold me his exhaust cheap ($50) but he used to run it as a straight pipe and i use the slip-on muffler. i would even be willing to talk to someone about making a custom stepped header exhaust with pipes that are a slight bit larger than the steps on the PBU header and then ill just buy a slip on muffler for a pitbike or something. if u know what im talking about and u think u can help me please let me know, but i really want a stepped header, but maybe a big bore exhaust would be worth looking at, but no expansion chambers. well maybe if someone makes a nice big bore exhaust for the X7 i would definitley take a look at it. thanks for all your help

you'd be better off building your own exhaust, start with one of the pitbike exhausts on ebay for under $50....I built a few exhausts starting with these pipes and they work great...

Leave it to me to step on the embers, but I have been reading everything I can find on stepped headers and I mean EVERYTHING. From what I can see all the claims out there for stepped headers are cashing in on hype. Yes the stepped header system works and it works almost like magic but it has to be calculated and measured out. Formula 1 teams measure (Simple explanation) the exhaust velocity at the point of exhaust and then see how much it decreases at a bend in the exhaust. They then work out how much to widen and at what angle to bend the pipe to regain the velocity. You can't tell me the Mid companies out there are putting in that kind of work crazy_smilie Bending and stretching a pipe does not a step exhaust make. I have tried calculating the measurements for my bike and I have been at it for sometime and I continually have to re-measure and bust out the calculator. It may seem like a easy excercise with just one cylinder to deal with...yeah right. I think I would hang myself if I have to figure out 10 different cylinders like F1.

so i should just by a big bore exhaust made for a pitbike and call it done. that sounds easier to do and great to me. i would love to do that but i am unsure of what pitbike exhaust will get close to fitting on my x7 w/ a 140cc well enough so i dont have to rebend it very much to get a perfect fit. i think that the x7 frame is similiar to the x18 frame, but not sure, so if anyone knows of a nice big bore exhaust that will fit with little to no modification let me know. please

If you go with a pit bike pipe your gonna have to cut it and add some length to it. Most pit bike pipes will work just make sure it's atleast 28mm diameter or theres no point in buyin it.

How much more length is needed?
