x18 oil cooler install- How to?

I was given an oil cooler off an old 1980's Yamaha 850 and it's perfect size for my x18. My questions,
1. can I drill into the head then tap it with some pipe fittings on the plate on the right side of then engine with 3 bolts holding it on and tap into an oil gallery?
2. Does the x18 have an oil pump or just an oil slinger?

you can tap the head or just buy the plate

great thanks, I think i have some pipe thread taps, if I do, maybe I'll do a how to write up for all the other cheap people like myself.
