Maybe start a sticky with the things you need to do before and after you ride your bike for the first time and info on oil changes and such?

Drain the crappy oil out of it and put Honda 4 stroke or Yamalube. Then after u break it in use full synthetic.

NGK spark plug
Iridium-CR7HIX-about $6 at ur local parts store(Auto parts, a bike shop charges more for motorcycle plugs)
Standard-c7hsa(I think)

if it is not broke in yet get eather 5w30 or 10w30 non-synthetic...if broke in get 10w30 synthetic oil, make sure it is motorcyce oil

i break my engines in with honda non-synthetic oil that is 10w-30. after break in i switch to Lucas 10w-40 semi-synthetic racing motorcycle oil. using a car oil that is full synthetic can SOMETIMES give u clutch slippage problems. that is why i like the Lucas semi-sythetic motorcycle oil because it is specially formulated for hi-revving racing engines with additives specifically for wet clutches that makes the clutch grab better and last longer and the lucas oil is specially formulated also for lubricating gears. it is exactly what our bikes need. it has all of the bases covered for use in our midbike 4 stroke engines. i figure why take any chances with these engines and just get an oil made exactly for what your setup is, like the Lucas 10w-40 semi-synthetic MOTORCYCLE oil. not car oil. car oil is made just for lubricating your engine. cars have different oils for the transmissions and special oils made just for the gears. while motorcycle oil has to lube the engine, clutch, and the gears at the same time (there are no car oils that have the formulation for engine lubrication, wet clutch lubrication, and gear lubrication) but if u must use a car oil dont use fully synthetic. use either a conventional oil or a semi-synthetic. u can ask 10 people about their favorite oil choices for their midbike and get 10 different answers. Nutty, (on some thread) has some very good info on the correct oil for these engines. PS, i usually put in about 9 tenths of a quart. it is better to have a little to much oil then not enough. especially if u have an oil cooler. then u have to take into account the volume of oil the cooler and lines hold.
