not really when you consider the precision that jets need. its also a cheap price to get your bike running right.

Someone figured out how to make $$$ with them I guess!
Do you have any suggestion on anyone else who has them for much cheaper?
For those of us like myself, I wouldn't suppose drilling out the centers on these screws would be an option would it?
For the time and trouble and by the time all is said and done, the price doesn't seem so bad, that is, if it's something I think I really need.
I'm not trying to plug any particular businesses........so far any businesses that I've ever mentioned I've been told have been really high priced.
Am I missing something or are there places that have the parts we need when we need them for far far less?
I know Nutty has compiled a list of sites of parts vendors, perhaps we need to dig a little deeper into what they offer?dunno

not really when you consider the precision that jets need. its also a cheap price to get your bike running right.I bought a bigger carb for less. But the shipping cost me.LOLbluelaugh.Well i just made my own jet because i didn't want to spend the money in buying a kit and find out that the problem was somthing else.LOL I truley believe the jet i made will work.

Call me a pack-rat but I have about...Oh 50 jets lying around in a container from 1:1 bikes. I can't remember which make carb they come from but I believe most are Kehin. I'm stocking up on more as I go to my bud shop. As carbs get pulled off junk bikes I snatch jets out. Because they're so small they're easy to store and with the size engraved in them I never wonder what size they are just if they will fit (Thread pattern). Just a thought on purcuring cheap or free jets.

Shooter: Everything I see at PBU is overpriced. They have a flashy website with glowing words about their products, but they are really just there to sucker people who don't know any better. No offense mate, but search a bit more.
x19: First of all, don't believe the speedo's on these bikes, they vary wildly. I've heard of one reading 15mph flat out when the bike was clearly a lot faster than that.
You will likely be running rich at your high altitude. Air is less dense at higher altitudes and that means less oxygen per volume (remember that oxygen is the only thing we are interested in as far as mixture is concerned). Drop your jet size down probably two sizes. Ride it. If it improves your performance drop down again one size. Ride it. What you are looking for is clean running all the way to max rpm. If it starts popping out the exhaust you have gone too lean so go back up a jet size.
Having said that, I've seen some engines go lean at altitude because thinner air means less vacuum to draw fuel through the jet. Only experimentation will tell.
Changing the air bleed screw will only effect your engine at idle. That is all it is intended for and it will have no effect at WOT.
Try motorcycle shops in your area for jets. The carbys on these bikes are copies of Mikuni and/or Keihin carbys, so they should be able to supply you with jets. If you're friendly and buy some stuff from them they'd possibly help you jet your bike correctly for the cost of a ride up and down the street. Chances are they have never seen a midbike before and like most riders they would be interested in the fun side of it.
Cheers,
