I was looking through a catalog at my bud's shop and saw the Trail Tech Gauge it there for $119 next to it I saw another gauge that was cheaper but doesn't look half bad. Here's a few Ebay link's and photo's.

http://cgi.ebay.com/TRAIL-TECH-VAPOR-COMPUTER-KTM-95-03-TOP-OF-THE-LINE_W0QQitemZ320180175924QQihZ011QQcategoryZ29705 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I know the one gauge says it's for a 350 Warrior but after looking in the catalog I could see that the only difference is a cable. Change the cable $20 and it will work on on your bike.

Im investing in a Mychron over the winter. Very good investment for jetting and just know how your bike runs. Well worth a couple hundred.

I almost bought one similar to these but decided not to........just not familiar with the brand names.
Just the other day I decided on a 21 function Vetta speedo.
I don't really care about all the functions, just that I am able to see the numbers clearly and that it has a nice bright nite light option.
Here's the pic

Hey guys I have a Vapor on my X18. There is no specific model that you need you just have to buy the right sensors. The Endurance that Nutty Professor posted is junk it does not have all the read outs that the vapor has. I just sold one of my Vapors to a guy on the forum and am going to sell my second one that I have also. I am upgrading to a mychron so I can track laps off a beacon. If anybody wants my reamining vapor with the sensors just me a pm

That's good to know about the endurance Bri I had no idea thumbsup2 Wish you had been selling before I bought my stand alone tach rolleye0010 Water under the bridge. Why don't you do a thread on the Vapor and the MyChron telling people how they work, what you need, and general information. Just a thought?

Hey Nutty I didnt mean to sound like I was bustin your chops on the Endurance reference I thought they would be good at first too but learned more about it and found the Vapor to be way better.

I would look at computers this way:

A street bike that is not going on the track has really no need for the mychron, it is a lot more expensive than the Vapor because you can track lap times off a beacon.

If lap times are not your concern then the Vapor is a great option. Like Swanni said it has alot of features: MPH, RPM, Shift Light, Engiine and outdoor Temp, Top Speed, Top RPM etc..

I used the Vapor for the track and it was great for jetting and monitoring the performance of the bike but now I am really focuses on Lap times so that is why I am switching over.

Thats a great Idea IMO..I thought the vapors came with the sensors.
It would be nice to know which to get instead of ordering the wrong one bangheadbangheadand having to wait that much longer to use it!

If you did a bit of looking yourself jsosh93 you'd find the sensors on the trailtech website. While you're there read the instructions for the Vapor computer and it's sensors, then you wouldn't have to demand answers from others. I have answered your questions in the thread you started.

No Bri I didn't think you were busting the old chops bluelaugh I am glad someone who knew what the heck they were talking about sounded-off. I would hate to send someone down the wrong road because the read the first part of the thread and bought-in without doing a little side research. Saying that I'm am steamed moon1 about missing your Vapor...Life goes on.

I'm sure this speedo is going to keep popping up from time to time but thought i'd post this anyway because this will actually show what this guy did to install it.
I came across this by accident trying to find something out about valve stems.

I know what I want to put on my race dash but I would like a little input on where to find the gauges. I already have a electronic tach from Akunar. What I want to add are oil pressure and temp gauges, but I want the smallest units I can find and digital if possible. Sound off.

If you read a article and you like it save it. Then months later go back and read it again you'll be surprised what info you can pull out after the fact. Where am I going? I have been in and around racing for awhile. I'm used to having radar guns or transponders on the track to give laptimes or speedtraps to give you a gauge of how you're doing. A speedo on a racebike was something no one needed. I now can see a very real need for one on our bikes. I was reading a article by a Kart guy. He uses a speedo to check his gearing changes on tracks with no electronic measuring devices. Duh! How the hell would I know if what I did was helping or hurting without at least 2 things (devices) to get feedback from. A tach would give me 1 form of info but 2 is better. I have a spare bike speedo thrown in a box somewhere and didn't know what to use it for...I do now. Bicycle speedo's are cheap and small. Damn informations is power and this proves it yet again bows_smilie

I've been reconsidering my speedo options since I never really got quite attached to the one I got.
I was looking at the Vaypor again and again but something about it just doesn't sit well with me, I don't know what it is, I guess it just comes across to me as some sort of cheap knock-off........but it's the kind of thing I want.
While paging through 2WheelTuner I came across an ad from Nonlinear Engineering Inc.
This ad featured the Veypor (notice the spelling, "e" not "a") Performance Guage.
This thing has all that you could want but I don't know if it is something that would work on our bikes......I don't see why not.......they claim you can use it on ANY motorcycle.
Here's the link, mouse over the guage for more details........

I didn't intentionally try bumping this, but I noticed WickedWindWalker bought himself a Vapor unit.
Thought the link might be of some help.
I am very curious however...thinking_smilieWhat is the difference between the Vapor and the Nanbeiyan?thinking_smilie
They seem like almost the same exact thing except for the name.

These things are all over eBay.
The one thing I don't quite understand is if these things are for a bike then why is it that it has a display when you need to add engine oil?
I don't really care either way, I just need something to give me my speed and keep track of miles should I ever have to register this thing
