So i purchased a few items from a vender, and i received them today. I noticed that this was not the carb i ordered so i asked him/her to exchange it since he/she got it wrong, she/he said he would if i ship it to him/her, even though the vender made the mistake and there was nothing i could do about it since it is his/her mistake. Do you think it should be run this way? I pay for the vender's mistake?

Not at all.Just ask them if there going to reimburse you for your shipping cost.

IMO, a good company would ship you out a shipping label to mail back the wrong item sent.
On the bright side, you know how they do business now and can warn others.

A lot of these parts companies don't want the bad press so they just send out the right carb and don't ask for the wrong one back. Paying for shipping it back and having to just plain fool with it isn't worth the money. They pay hardly anything for the part and make a killing when they actually sell something. If they're giving you the what-for I wouldn't deal with them again. For one they probably don't know their product they're just selling "Stuff" and two the write ups they do on their merchandise will be wrong and eventhough you get the right part it won't do what they say. Just my twocents

I believe that in a case where the vendor clearly ships the wrong product they should send the correct product at their cost and pay the shipping cost of the returned item. It is their error and therefore is their responsibility to correct it.

If they continue down this line I'd name and shame them here. At least then others won't get caught out the same way. There are good vendors out there who deserve your business more.

Cheers,
