Thanks to Doug the postman dropped this off at my door this morning.
Yep Jagspeed's old motor that left us in a dust at VIR,the first mid exhibition race.LOL I'm gonna run it the way it is.But i think i might have a way to bring to bring it up to or close to a watercooled 200cc motor.:dunno:

how could u make it a 200?? what was it stock? It was a 110cc originally when it was stock. To bring it up or close to a watercooled 200cc i would used the clyinder and head from a vert watercooled engine. Then i would have to tear down this motor have the cases bored and then put new studs in spaced further apart. But to tell the truth the stud spacing on this motor is much wider apart than the stock 110's.Which might put me ahead of the game for boring it up some more.
I've been eyeballin this radiator mostly because of the way it looks.rock2 I guess i just need to get this in a bike and run it.LOL

Hey S, Great to see that motor going to good use. As I recall that motor stock was 49.5 bore and 57mm stroke. I went as far as I could and bored it to 54mm.
That only left a a minimal amount of thickness at the bottom of the cylinder sleeve. If you wanted to have a bigger bore you could re sleeve it. Then you could probably go with a 58-60mm piston. I have a 56mm sleeve that could be bored to 58mm if you are interested. Don't think there is enough meat on the cylinder go larger than that. The radiator you got with it is actually from a 1981 Yamaha YZ125 and cooled quite well. The Chinese one came apart on me at some point. I would see if you could use bigger valves somehow that would make a big difference. Here is a pic of the inside of that cylinder with the original piston to give you an idea of what you are working with.
Good Luck building. let me know if you have any other questions on it.

Hey Jim.... Yeah i was already thinking of putting bigger valves in the head. I also think i have 2 possible options as far as a bbk's for this motor. They make a bbk kit for a sonic 125 4 stroker and a head that comes with 31/27valves.
The one thing you can coun on with the China stuff. Is somewhere out there is the original part that they copied from.LOL
Yeah i knew the radiator was to good of quality to be the original one.LOL I know it works well i just liked the look of the other one,Looks more racey.

Yes it does sorta make it a little more appealing to me.
I decided to do a mock up fitment,i can see why the original watercooled x15 was a bigger bike. Talk about a tight fit! I'm not to worried though i've got a few ideas.I just didn't want to work to hard on making this work.Man i was thinking about putting it an another x18 chassis too.crazy_smilie

If I decide to take an easy way out,i'm gonna use 2 oil coolers or maybe a tranny cooler.

What about using a mx radiator off one side of like a YZ/CR 250-450 and placing it side ways just above the front of the head. You could use the side that does not have a radiator cap and use an separate cap and put it wherever.
Here is a pic of a CR250 left radiator. The cap is from a Ninja 250.

Yeah that looks like it work good. Infact I was looking at transmission coolers there some nice ones. Alot of different sizes and shapes. That remote radiator cap is definately gonna make this easier. Just what I had in mind too.

Brah I think I still have two transmission oil coolers. You can have one of them. They're in my storage if I still have the damn things let me look.

I should be alright NP infact that bar going across,if i cut it i can move the radiator up more. This will put the radiator cap right behind the fork neck tube. This will give me more clearance from the front wheel.Or i could turn it on it's side and this will give me a whole lot of clearance aslo.thumbsup2 But i'm really diggin on that radiator in my earlier pic though.I think i'm gonna go with that and the radaitor cap that Jag posted a pic of.thumbsup2
