Wheel action!!

Well I started this lil project and halfway thru realized I didnt have enough paint! I will be getting more and doing the back wheel soon! Whatcha guys think? I feel like it cleans up the bike so much!

Oh by the way the tires are shiny because of a little trick that I use for painting wheels with tires on them. If you spread vasoline along the sidewall the paint will not stick to the tires but will form a film over the jelly that just wipes off! thumbsup2

I didnt I just cleaned them very well but will probably go back and sand them down and do it rightthumbsup2

I'm gunna see how well and long it lasts like this first if it holds up great than I wont mess with it

yea it turned out great for about an hours worth of work! Just wish I would have had enough to do both rims banghead.

I have a paint scheme made up in my head but it is evolving as I go so we will see where it leads but it will be something along the lines of the stealth bike but shhh dont tell anyone!

Cool idea. The pin stripping for the wheels is sold all over Ebay. The blacked out look is good but it needs some areas to set it apart.

yea thats pretty much what I want. I think I want the red stripe to be thinner tho. I plan on painting the body with a mix of gloss black the same red on the rims for pinstriping, and flat black. The frame will be a dark graphite color.

That is my preliminary color scheme but is subject to change slightly and or extremely during the process. And yall better not copy me! Poke12 bluelaughj_k

vasoline is great for small spots when painting, i taped my tire off with newspaper when i painted it

Haha just kiddin witcha. I do plan on getting all the vasoline off I am just waiting on the paint to dry good and harden I have been putting some high heat lamps on the wheels trying to bake the paint since it was dark but I will (fingers crossed) be able to clean off the vasoline and ride today!rock2

Thanks bud I kinda did a quick job of it and will be going back over it but I wanted to see what it looked like and I had some spare time. I will probably end up powder coating them.
