I was toying with the idea of researching and writing articles for The Nation sort of like magazine testing articles. For my first article I was going to be a write up on what you should do if you ordered a head from OOracing. I outlined it something like this: I was starting with a 110cc motor because that’s what our bikes come with as OEM. What I found out would translate to just about any application. I asked OOracing what could they do for me if I was looking to go for a high performance head for a stock motor. I know some of you are doing the little head tilt you see a dog do when he’s wonder what the hell! This is how I put it to OOracing. I’m your average guy, married with 2.5 kids and a mortgage. "The one who must be obeyed" says that I can only spend so much at a time so I’ve decided to start with a cylinder head and work down. OOracing wanted to know what kind of motor I was looking at and I told them a 1 down 3 up transmission with a Honda clone bottom end. They wanted to know if it was a primary or secondary transmission and I had a ?huh? moment until I thought about it and said primary. I have yet to send the final information to OOracing to see what they have to say. Before I send in the final request I would like to know what you guys think I should ask. Realize that I’m talking to one company and this same concept can be passed to a different company and I would write that up to and see what’s going on there. Here’s your chance to ask a major builder what you want to ask but didn’t have the time or the nerve to ask. No question is stupid but remember not all question will be used. SO what ya want to know???? thinking_smilie

Good question. I ask about the roller rocker's. I know that on the strip every little bit of power you can pull out helps and percise lower friction parts is a major step.

OK Blitz you're the only one with a question so I'll go with that and the other question I had thanks man thumbsup2

when they asked primary or secondary transmission what did they mean? what would the primary be and what would the secondary trans be? i under the the primary and secondary part but that parts to they refer to on our bikes? all i cound think of is the primary trans would be the one inside the case and maybe the secondary trans being the chain drive set up including the 2 sprockets and the chain?

thats one thing i wouldnt get in my motor unless i happen to be racing every week for money.......reason being is that roller rockers need more spring pressure which puts them under alot of stress and causes them to wear out quicker than a solid lift rocker.....i have them on my 468 BBC in my dragster but will proly never get em again once i go to 572 ci

I think Stuntn people just want to know what's out there, but I didn't know there was a wear problem. I would have thought the exact opposite dunno If that's an issue why do "All" the drag race, NASCAR, etc teams you read about use them? I also want to know about cam profiles from OOracing. Can the Offer me multiple cam options at the time of purchase. Meaning if I order cam-A when I need a different torque curve or what ever will they have already told me what cam-B and C are?

we run them bcuz they're faster and its not like they wear out evry week but ive found that i have to change mine once a season, solid lift just last alot longer bcuz the spring pressure isnt even half.....i was just putn my twocents in on the roller motor setup bcuz thats what ive always ran in my dragster and i know how they wear and break more often

well i need new springs anyway cuz my cam floats now
roller rockers mean more rpm
its a known fact that race motors wear out faster
i accept that
so i say who cares
thats what the 'competition' has on us

if thats all thats left and you wanna go faster then i say go for it.... I WANNA SEE FUEL INJECTION ON ONE OF THESE THINGS....

ps....if you dont catch the rocker befor it gets too bad then the cam lobes get messed up too......figured i throw that in there

Good good info. Now I have to wait before I send a new email. But I like that why leave open a question we could ask now? Drag and Road make two totally different demands on motors. Drag is scream until your ears bleed and road race is G's until you black out or highside which ever comes first. Give me more folks I hate half measures when it comes to knowledge. Stuntn you got Rep.
